This bitter liqueur is obtained through the infusion of San Luca purple artichoke, Sicilian chinotto and other natural infusions and extracts in alcohol of agricultural origin and in water from the Adriatic Sea, making it perfect to be consumed asÊan aperitifÊ. Furthermore, thanks to the cynarin it contains, itsÊdigestive characteristicsÊcan also be appreciated.

Production areaÊ: hilly areas south of the municipality of Bologna, municipalities of Bologna, Ozzano, Pianoro and San Lazzaro di Savena, province of Bologna.

In the first half of the last century, theÊSan Luca artichokeÊwas one of the main crops on the hills south of Bologna. Purple artichokes are also very common in the Romagna area, but growing in the clayey soil of the Bologna hills gives the San Luca variety a fresh, herbaceous flavor with notes that tend to licorice root.
