March 2024 Wine Club Release - Select Tier

March 2024 Selection: A Symphony of Terroir and Tradition

This March, the Select Tier of the Wine Club embarks on a global journey through vineyards steeped in heritage and innovation. Our curated collection features wines that narrate a story of passion, the environment, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the pioneering spirit of Colorado, each bottle is a testament to the unique terroir and visionary winemakers.

A Tuscan Gem and Austrian Innovation

We begin in Italy, with Tenuta Le Calcinaie's Vernaccia di San Gimignano, a white wine that captures the essence of Tuscany. Its organic cultivation and the meticulous winemaking process pay homage to the land, offering a sensory delight of green apple and white flowers. The Vernaccia's versatility makes it an exceptional companion for a myriad of dishes, embodying the rich tradition of Italian white winemaking.

Crossing over to Austria, Martin & Anna Arndorfer's Vorgeschmack Rosé presents a vibrant interpretation of Zweigelt, infused with Grüner Veltliner skins for a spicy, tannic twist. This rosé is a bold exploration of fruit and earth, a perfect match for light, grilled fare, and a celebration of Austria's innovative winemaking approach.

Piedmont's Tradition and Bolgheri's Renaissance

Giacomo Borgogno & Figli's Dolcetto d'Alba from Piedmont offers a dive into the rich viticultural landscape of Italy's north. The Dolcetto grape, nurtured on southwest-facing slopes, expresses a lively bouquet of red fruits, crafting a wine that's both invigorating and pleasant, ideal for complementing Italian cuisine's richness.

In Bolgheri, the 2020 I Greppi Greppicante Superiore showcases a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. This wine is a narrative of resilience, its ruby red hue and black fruit aromas encapsulating the estate's dedication to biodiversity and the symbiotic relationship between land and vine.

Colorado's Craftsmanship and Chile's Coastal Elegance

From the Grand Valley AVA, Colterris's 2019 Merlot reflects Colorado's unique terroir, blending estate-grown Merlot with touches of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Its profile of blackberry cobbler and dark plum pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes, celebrating the art of winemaking in Colorado.

Lastly, the journey takes us to Chile's Limarí Valley, where Viña Tabalí's Talinay Syrah stands as a testament to innovation and tradition. The coastal Talinay vineyard yields a Syrah of unparalleled elegance, a wine that invites connoisseurs to explore its sophisticated flavors and earthy, salty finish.

A Tapestry of Global Viticulture

The March 2024 Select Tier release weaves together the stories of six wines, each embodying the spirit of their origin. From Tuscan heritage to Austrian innovation, Piedmont tradition, Bolgheri's renaissance, Colorado's craftsmanship, and Chile's coastal elegance, this selection celebrates the diversity and richness of global viticulture.
