Château Belregard-Figeac is a shining example of classic, right-bank Bordeaux with a soulful, natural touch. Owned by the Pueyo family since 1853, this estate has evolved under the careful stewardship of Jacques and Jean-Paul Pueyo, with a fresh vision brought by Jacques’ son, Christophe. Since 2010, Christophe has introduced organic and biodynamic farming, minimal-intervention winemaking, and extended aging in larger-format barrels. The result? A wine of purity, elegance, and vibrant energy, deeply rooted in the terroir of Saint-Émilion.

Sensory Description

A quintessential Saint-Émilion, this wine is both polished and deeply expressive. Its vibrant ruby-garnet color gives way to an alluring nose of red currant, cassis, and raspberry, layered with hints of tobacco leaf, savory herbs, and coffee. Medium-bodied with silky tannins and a juicy acidity, it’s smooth and generous on the palate, with a graceful grip that makes it approachable yet age-worthy.

Winemaker’s Background

The Pueyo family’s history in Saint-Émilion dates back over 170 years, but it’s Christophe Pueyo who has taken the estate into a new era. His shift toward organic and biodynamic farming, combined with a more hands-off approach in the cellar, has resulted in wines of remarkable purity and energy. By incorporating larger barrels from Stockinger and reducing extraction, he’s crafted a wine that truly reflects the character of its terroir while maintaining balance and finesse.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy slightly below room temperature (around 60–65°F) after a brief decant. A natural pairing for roast duck, grilled lamb, or a hearty mushroom risotto. It also shines with aged cheeses like Comté or a simple steak frites. Elegant yet structured, this wine is enjoyable now but will develop beautifully through 2030.
